Why should you read to your little one?

"43% of 1 year olds are not being read to every day." (BookTrust)

"1 in 11 children do not have a book in their home." (National Literacy Trust)

Unfortunately there are far too many statistics that follow this trend. I am so happy to be able to say that ZaZa's Storybox has now launched and we can start to help improve these statistics inspiring the little people in our lives to love books.

Through ZaZa's Storybox I am determined to make a difference to both my beautiful daughter and other little ones in their early years. Did you know that...

reading books together in early infancy can boost reading skills four years later (American Academy of Paediatrics)

or,

the number of books available to a child at 6 months has a significant impact on a child's expressive vocabulary at 24 months (Roulstone et al)

and that,

reading to your little one every day instead of twice a week has the same effect on reading skills as being 12 months older? (Kalb & Van Ours)

Benefits like these are infinite, setting your little one up for life. The majority of brain development happens in the early years, so make the most of this opportunity!

I've seen first hand that reading with your little one helps create a positive home learning environment, it helps imaginations develop, encourages two way communication, creates nurturing relationships and helps your little one to listen and respond.

Our monthly subscriptions give you the opportunity to do all these things receiving relevant books into your home to enjoy with your little one. All conveniently delivered with plenty of variety.

I'm excited to be a part of inspiring your little ones to love books, setting the foundations for their future development. Please feel free to get in touch and let us know what you think.
